Specializing in Medicare Health Plans in Colorado
What is MEDICARE?
Medicare is federal health insurance provided by the U.S. government. All U.S. citizens, or permanent residents for at least five continuous years, are eligible to receive Original Medicare health coverage at 65 years old.
Part A - Hospitalization - covers inpatient costs. In addition to hospitals, Part A helps with skilled nursing facilities, hospice, and home health care.
Part B - Medical/Outpatient Services - covers medical expenses such as office visits, lab work, outpatient surgery, ambulance rides, preventive care, durable medical equipment, etc.
Part C - Advantage Plans - a Medicare-approved plan from a private company that offers an alternative to Original Medicare for your health and drug coverage. These “bundled” plans include Part A, Part B, and usually Part D.
Part D - Prescription Drug Plans - Helps cover the cost of prescription drugs (including many recommended shots or vaccines). You can join a Medicare drug plan in addition to Original Medicare, or you get it by joining a Medicare Advantage Plan with drug coverage.
Medicare Supplement - Extra insurance you can buy from a private company that helps pay your share of costs in Original Medicare. Policies are standardized, and named by letters, like Plan G or Plan N. The benefits in each lettered plan are the same, no matter which insurance company sells it.
